Ser Caldris

Warden of the Broken Oath

A silent warden carrying the remains of seven royal oaths across his armor, guarding bridges and the cost of promises.

At 74 cm tall, Ser Caldris uses a steel-reinforced resin body, layered ABS armor, a metal spear and a reinforced shield. The broken halo mounts to the shoulder frame, while ivory oath strips, deep-green enamel and bronze edges are aged by hand.

The Drakoria Chronicles

Beyond the Seven Oaths

01

Seven Oaths

Caldris was raised under seven oaths: protect the border, people, law, memory, peace, truth and throne. The first six supported one another; the last chained them all to the palace. When the young knight noticed the contradiction, his master ordered silence. Caldris wrote each oath across an ivory strip on his armor and waited for years to learn which one the kingdom would break first.

02

The Bridge Night

When war reached the capital, Caldris was ordered to destroy the western bridge while hundreds of civilians remained on it. The throne demanded demolition; the people demanded time. He refused the command, drove his shield between the stones and held the crossing until dawn. The bridge survived, but the palace erased his name from the guard register.

03

The Broken Halo

A royal tribunal accused Caldris of abandoning his oath. During judgment, the seven-ring ceremonial halo was shattered, each fragment carrying a different promise. He offered no defense. Instead, he mounted the broken circle behind his shoulders, knowing that hidden shame allows the same order to be given again. Those who saw the missing arc began asking which oath had truly failed.

04

The Silent Judgment

For years Caldris walked the bridges of Eryndor. He charged no toll, asking travelers only to name the promise that mattered most. The ivory strips moved without wind before a lie; the green enamel of his shield briefly shone before an honest answer. He became neither guard nor judge, but a witness who made people hear the weight of their own words.

05

The New Oath

When Caldris heard of Kael’s northern march, he followed another knight for the first time. Kael spoke of an order that protected people rather than restoring a crown. Before joining him, Caldris waits at the western bridge to ensure the old throne is not returning under a new name. His eighth oath is ready: no promise will be more sacred than those it was made to protect.
